Warin-bik is an opportunity for First Nations identifying students from all Victorian Special Schools to learn, connect and celebrate First Nations Culture at Blackwood Special School Outdoor Education Centre.
Schools from across the network of Victorian Government Special Schools are invited to come together and work together to gain a greater understanding of Koorie Culture across our State and Nation.
Through a unique curriculum, this program offers First Nations identifying students an opportunity to meet and learn about Culture, from Cultural Leaders and educators, as well as develop an understanding of Koorie life and traditions. Through the program students will be given a chance to share, learn and grow as they identify and gain a greater level of understanding of First Nations Culture together.
Students will work together to develop understanding of indigenous skills in the areas of cultural understanding, cooking, art and dance. Use your imagination to create your own Dreamtime Story or art piece, learn Cultural Dance and story telling or use indigenous signs to create a unique story with your friends.
