As a school, Blackwood values its relationships with visiting students and staff and is committed to working with visiting schools to deliver quality educational programs that enhance student outcomes both at Blackwood and beyond.

It is imperative that prior to this application being completed, that all applications are supported by the Principal and your School’s Leadership Team is fully aware of the commitment, cost and time required to plan, prepare, implement and review a Blackwood Program and understand that your school are responsible for providing staff to meet overnight supervision requirements in accordance with DET Policy and the needs of your students.

We understand the considerable time and effort that schools put into organising and implementing programs at Blackwood and we work closely with schools to ensure that the program designed through consultation with Blackwood Staff best supports the learning outcomes linked to your curriculum sequence.

As a government school, Blackwood is committed to ensuring that outdoor learning programs can be delivered at a reasonable cost. The per student Blackwood costs includes:-

Accommodation – regardless of site allocated
Blackwood Lessons

Accessing extra-curricular programs beyond our Blackwood Curriculum may incur an extra cost for visiting schools. Details of our costs can be found at:- www.blackwoodssoec.vic.edu.au/costs

Visiting schools are expected to arrange all food requirements and costs as well as transport to and from Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Centre.

To maximise Blackwood facilities, staff and availability, some bookings may involve Schools simultaneously sharing facilities
