Emotional Recognition Students focus on developing a deeper understanding of their emotions, feelings and behavioural responses. Empathy is a key focus, with students developing and identifying the links between their behaviours and others emotions and feelings.
Learning in Blackwood’s unique setting highlights the importance for different relationships and the development of trust within a student’s broader community.
Personal Strengths Students are supported to identify their strengths but also understand areas in which they can continue to improve. This is done through the opportunity to experience a vast array of tailored activities within their program.
Students are given the opportunity to experience said activities with the focus on not only encouraging the further development of skills but also highlighting their strengths.
Coping Strategies Whilst undertaking educational opportunities students are assisted in the development and implementation of different strategies that allow them to continually extend their comfort zones to improve and develop new and existing strengths and skills.
